Under the direction of the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and under the field supervision of the Director of the Internal Affairs Department, Dr. Maitham Abdul Hussein Al-Wazzan, efforts were made to address the crisis of the interruption of fresh water supply at the source due to maintenance of the pipelines in the governorate.

The Internal Affairs Department contacted the University Diwan Affairs Department and the Basra Governorate Water Directorate. Additionally, they purchased RO water tanks and mobilized all efforts to provide water to the male and female student sections in the Bab Al-Zubair and Karmat Ali complexes to overcome the crisis, especially as students are taking their final exams this year.
