The Director of Dormitories at the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority Visits Dormitories at the University of Basra to Assess Service Conditions
Professor Dr. Bassam Karim Zaidan, Director of Dormitories Affairs at the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority for Public and Private Universities within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by an official delegation, visited the dormitories at the University of Basra to review the administrative and service conditions and monitor the implementation of the summer maintenance plan for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The visit included the male and female student dormitories at the Karma Ali, Bab Al-Zubair, and Al-Asma'i campuses, where the level of services provided and the progress of maintenance and renovation work were assessed to ensure a suitable living environment for students.
A comprehensive meeting was also held with the administrative and technical staff of the dormitories in the meeting hall. During this meeting, the most prominent challenges and obstacles were discussed, along with ways to improve administrative and service performance, in addition to reviewing future plans for the dormitories.
Assistant Professor Muntadhar Jumaa Mahdi, Director of the Dormitory Affairs Department at the University of Basra, confirmed that the visit comes within the framework of ongoing monitoring of the dormitories and improving the level of services provided to students. He indicated that the recommendations resulting from the meeting will be implemented as part of the preparations for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The meeting resulted in a number of recommendations and directives that will be implemented immediately with the aim of developing the residential environment and improving services within the dormitories.
